Tech Talent Transformation Program

Program Overview

A fully funded training program by the Government of Alberta, delivered by Mphasis, to help trained IT professionals build practical digital and AI skills to successfully transition into Alberta’s growing technology workforce.

Through curated online learning on technology and soft skills, hands-on practice, guided progression, and structured assessments, the program helps learners build job-ready knowledge that supports career progression, interview readiness, and real-world project execution.

The program brings together high-quality content, structured learning paths, mentorship, and progress tracking to enable outcome-oriented skill development, helping participants become job-ready and competitive in the local market.

Participation Criteria

The program is designed for unemployed or underemployed individuals residing in Alberta who are motivated to launch, build, or restart careers in the technology sector.

  • Mid-career, trained professionals with an IT background currently living in Alberta.
  • Eligible applicants include Permanent Residents, naturalized Canadian citizens, and Convention Refugees.
  • Canadian immigrants who have arrived within the last 5 years are encouraged to apply.
  • Individuals with prior education in IT or related fields, or up to 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, with a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 5 or higher.
  • Learners seeking industry-aligned digital, AI, and workplace skills, who are motivated to enhance their employability in Alberta’s tech sector.

Curriculum and Learning Journey

The program combines the flexibility of online learning with the discipline of structured progression, guided mentorship, and measurable assessments, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging educational experience.

  • Each program is delivered through a flexible, remote model over six months, offering specializations in high-demand technology streams

  • Ongoing assessments, constructive feedback, and detailed progress tracking

Enrollment and Onboarding

Applicants will complete an assessment before being accepted into the program. Successful candidates will be enrolled in their chosen stream, receive platform access, and participate in orientation with program guidelines. The journey from application to completion includes:
